• The thought of taking a career break first struck me in January 2024. It was, of course, a very difficult decision. Friends, colleagues, family, and others around me raised several valid questions: Why are you doing this? Who takes a break at the prime of their career? What will you do with so much free time? What if this turns out to be a mistake? Won’t it set back your professional growth by years?
• But life and travel had taught me an essential lesson — avoiding difficult decisions often leads to more regret than the decisions themselves. So, in February 2024, I resigned from my well-paying corporate job.
• The beauty of these difficult decisions is that they often force us to grow, evolve, and confront our deepest fears or desires. They push us beyond the comfortable, challenging us to let go of things that no longer serve us or to embrace the unknown. In their aftermath, we often find clarity, peace, or a new path we never imagined. Just as the most breathtaking landscapes are reached by steep, uncertain trails, these choices bring us closer to our true selves, teaching us resilience and the art of trusting life’s unfolding.
