• WEEDS NGO was established in the year 1989 as “Keezhmaanagar Mahalir Munnettra Sangham” which soon got spread to different villages and in the 1996 changed its name to “Women’s Education and Economic Development Society (WEEDS)”. WEEDS have been at the forefront of promoting women empowerment by teaching them to fish and feed their whole family, boost her family’s health and education for the children. We do this by cutting down household poverty and vulnerability through empowering women, educating women, creating awareness among women, skill development and creating jobs. Currently WEEDS NGO is working in the following projects:
• Self Help Group Bank Linkage Program
• Women Entrepreneurship Training
• Awareness Training on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013
• Student Scholarship Program
