MDT Assistant Coordinator

Jan 2021Nov 2021 · 10 mos · Greater London, England, United Kingdom

  • This job roll was a secondment roll within the trust for a year, I chose to take up this opportunity as I believe this would open myself to potential pathways for my career. This secondment was within the guys cancer team making this a fast working and demanding roll.
  • Within my roll I assisted the MDT Coordinator with preparing the MDT for the cancer patients this included;
  • Leasing with other hospitals to access the imaging for the patients scans, and requesting reports and the histology slides for the patients. This is important as where now taken over the patients care the nurses will need a full understanding of the patients health.
  • During this roll the main systems that we used were PACs, Mosaiq, IEP, email.
  • Being able to pick out the relevant patient history that will be discussed in the MDT from previous hospital visits/referrals.
  • Sending out the MDT on time to a group of medical staff at the deadline.
  • Printing out the relevant patient documents and the MDT schedule for the meeting that will take place.
