• Responsible for leading software development teams and working with trading desks for Energy & Options groups. In the past, I have worked closely with the equities, futures, fixed income and distressed securities desks, and helped build the technology teams for those groups.
• I have also championed the data infrastructure initiatives at the firm. Led the data infrastructure group that builds shared tools and libraries to ingest market data from exchanges, brokers and vendor feeds, fundamental and alternative data from vendors and scraping websites. The unified data management platform helps to streamline data acquisition, manage data quality, provide interactive analytics for time-series data, and facilitate data discovery and data visualization.
• Additionally, as part of senior management team, I handle several general management responsibilities as well (these include driving talent acquisition and hiring from campus and market, planning training and retention, running internship programs, knowledge sharing, business continuity planning, and other firm-wide initiatives).

• Led technology teams for the Energy, Options, Equities, Fixed Income, Futures, Distressed Securities, Long Short and Convertibles Trading Desks. Managed projects across multiple business verticals right from project conceptualization to deployment.
• Managed projects focused on implementing new trade execution strategies, and building dashboards for portfolio monitoring/analysis. Worked on order/trade management systems to enable desk to trade on multiple exchanges/platforms (ICE, NYMEX, EEX & Trading Technologies) and different asset classes/products.
• Subject matter expert on instrument modeling and security universe mgmt. (position limits, pricing, risk), trade life cycle and risk management.
• Automated fundamental data acquisition relevant for trading energy commodities (natural gas, crude, power) as well as worked on building analytical models (using Python and R) for predicting prices for energy futures.

Jul 2000 – Apr 2002 · 1 yr 9 mos

• Responsibilities included managing projects right from problem definition to final deployment.
• Led a team of five to develop an integrated system to streamline recruitment (RMS) – auto-generate question papers for campus visits and track a candidate’s application right from resume submission to final decision. This system brought in ~ 40% reduction in man hours in the strategic growth division.

• Responsibilities included hands-on coding and owning independent modules in a project.
• Designed the architecture of an automated help desk solution, a critical module of a new to-be-launched IT subscription service business model.
