I started with the Taj Group of Hotels many decades ago and left the industry after two years - not my cup of tea ! I hated the long hours, the constant smiling, the mid-week offs and and. So what if I had done a hotel management course.... Moved to the then SITA Travels and spent a life-time in inbound tourism. Was fortunate enough to be able to work in Europe for 10 years - Frankfurt, Paris, London. Left the corporate world in 2007 as Chief Operating Officer - India & South Asia, Kuoni Destination Management because I firmly believe that you must get off when you are at the top - your peak does not remain for ever. I then blindfolded went into entrepreneurship, to fulfill a long standing desire - build a resort which defied traditional hoteliering norms. It gave birth to my own brand of experiential resorts - The Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels, the first being in Jaipur. With time and most unexpectedly, Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels grew from one to fifteen unique boutique properties across the country from 2009 to 2023. Having achieved my passion of creating a boutique hospitality brand and knowing that I was the wrong person to take it forward from here, I sold my business in November 2023. Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels is today one of the brands of the Taj Group of Hotels. Circle of life completed ! I also launched A Dog's Story in 2019. We are presently at some fourteen locations. These are pet loving getaways for pet parents and pet lovers only, with quality accommodation and open spaces for your pet. Given my love for the mountains, I am growing a trekking and mountaineering brand Snowfox Escapes, along with looking to starting a soul cafe in the mountains. I also spend my time with my Labrador Jugnu; lecturing at various hospitality schools and business houses; mentoring start-ups and established tourism / hospitality businesses and travelling. mountains.
