• As part of my fellowship, I worked closely with the Minister, Principal Secretary, Mission Director, Employment Generation and Skill Development Department, Government of Punjab on strategic affairs around skill development, employability and employment generation.
• In a span of 14 months I have been able to do the following things for the State of Punjab:-
• I have been instrumental in bringing systems thinking in the Government space by deploying project management tools through which accountability mechanisms and productivity calculations can be kicked in. It has resulted in efficiency across the department.
• I have been able to bring companies and investments to Punjab by forging a partnership between Punjab Government’s Invest Punjab and a Bangalore based company Called Mikro Grafeio which is in the business of bringing Global Capability Centers or GCCs to Tier-2/Tier-3 towns in Indian States.
• I was primarily responsible for bringing companies like LinkedIn,Google,Coursera,Talerang,Pan IIT Alumni, Urban Company, ONDC to the State for potential collaborations. Some of these discussions are still ongoing.
• I helped the Department participate in the Indian Government’s Smart India Hackathon where I created three problem statements from use cases within the department and put them in the hackathon. 378 teams across the country participated among which 17 teams were declared finalists and 4 teams won the competition.
• I also headed a team of 23 Mahatma Gandhi National Fellows and deployed them across various districts for creating district skill development plans and skill gap analysis through which the department could understand what all skills people require to get jobs in a certain industry or sector.
• I have also contributed in compiling the State Skill Development Plan and the State Skill Scheme which will empower thousands of candidates through skill development and employment.

• Role: I founded Turisys. The first product that I worked on was a social media video graph engine. I like watching movies a lot and hence the idea was to create a social media tool that could be used by people to come in touch with people who also like to watch genre of movies which are similar.The scorecard of a movie would be decided by the number of followers of the movie along with the number of times the movie name is being mentioned across the web.The idea was to develop the movie graph of a person based on his likes and dislikes and through an interconnected series of movie graphs try to extract the most optimal movies to watch.
• I was working on the front end and had almost completed it when the unfortunate news struck that http://boxtv.com/ got launched exploiting the same idea. I did try to create a pivot but had to abandon the idea completely as boxtv had incorporated every single feature that I had thought of.
• I have finished up with the algorithm for recommending movies.This is my own invention and I believe it will have future of it's own in due time.I am still sampling it with data to figure out if the formula I have used for ranking movies would work fine or not if the size of the data set increases.
• Crafted a movie recommendation algorithm that can rank movies based on user input and critical input over a series of k iterations where a set of different factors decide it's final ranking Rf.The star rating system has been out in use where each star has been associated with some weights varying both for user input and critical input.Plan to do a data sampling for 500 users in k sets.As of now after the first iteration results the ranking for 8 popular Bollywood movies that I took into account stands better than the imdb ranking which relies solely on the star rating system,Will also consider collaborative filtering,matrix factorization methods and various other ranking algorithms while optimizing my algorithm.

• I work as a senior developer leading a team of 4 people. The development team works in tandem with the development team based out of Bonaire. We work on the majority of development work which comes up in the form of enhancements for different customers and bug fixes. The revport application has internal business logic to it which calculates fee for different customers. It is used as a downstream interface by financial industries to calculate fee for rendering services to their customers. The product after passing through rules defined in an internal rules engine tends to compute the fee and publishes the information in invoices ,information pertaining to it being stored in the general ledger. The invoice is then sent to the customers for payment.

• Job Description-The idea was to develop wrappers for DF(Data Federator) which can connect to any data source. Data Federator namely has a layer of wrappers which can analyze any query generated from the application’s query engine optimize it and execute it over any database but for hitting the query to the database using a business objects proprietary middleware manager which internally uses either an ODBC/JDBC/OLEDB driver to connect to the required database. DF is an EII application and hence unlike normal ETL tools it does not store data in any physical location but fires an instant query and extracts a dynamic view out of the data source using a concept of target tables and a set of mapping based rules.
• The analysis also has to cover for any dialect shortcoming of a database which has to be hard coded in the application but for optimization purposes all kind of computations are pushed to the source unless the source does not support any specific computation.

At present we are handling only import clearance. GENIUS has a record of each and every shipment which comes to it for clearance which is archived at the end of every week so that for the forthcoming week a purge can be easily done to free the space at GENIUS for the new shipment information.
• Role: I am involved in the Post Production Enhancement of the product.; I was also involved in a short term Project on IT Consultancy for FedEx under which I did a market research to find out about the key areas in Supply Chain Management where we still need to harness our resources up to the maximum to ensure optimization.
