About

Major Vandana Sharma is a senior HR and Culture Transformation leader with 20 years of corporate HR leadership experience across organisations such as Wipro, GMR, TNT, and Myntra. Commissioned into the Indian Army in 1996, she served for a decade, including deployment in Kargil during the Kargil conflict. Served in Ladakh (1998–2000). She is recorded in Army Ordnance Corps History (Vol. III, 1987–2000) as the first lady officer to face enemy fire in actual combat operations — a distinction that reflects her grounding in resilience, courage, and decision-making under extreme conditions. Since transitioning to corporate leadership in 2006, Vandana has led enterprise-wide mandates across Leadership Excellence, Diversity & Inclusion, Organisation Development, and Strategic HR — partnering with CXOs and business leaders to build high-performance, future-ready, and human-centered cultures. A 10-time TEDx speaker, global keynote speaker, and widely regarded motivational speaker, she has addressed organisations including Google, Microsoft, HSBC, Tata Steel, SBI, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Walmart Global, as well as premier institutions such as the IIMs and ISB. Recognised as a LinkedIn Top Voice (2019), she continues to shape conversations on leadership, resilience, women in leadership, and purpose-driven transformation. She has also served as Adjunct Faculty at IIM Kashipur, where she taught Human Resources and Interpersonal Effectiveness, drawing on two decades of corporate leadership experience. Her keynote themes include: • Leading Change in a Hybrid and Disrupted World • Women in Leadership: Breaking Barriers and Building Influence • Building Cultures of Excellence and Accountability • Resilience Under Pressure: Lessons from Conflict to Corporate • Inclusion as a Strategic Driver of Innovation and Growth Vandana is also the Founder of VaMiKa Heritage, a conscious fashion brand that revives Indian handlooms through stories of slow living and sustainable beauty — reflecting her belief that leadership, like craftsmanship, is built with intention, authenticity, and long-term vision. Organisations engage Major Vandana Sharma as a keynote speaker, motivational speaker, coach, and transformation leader when they seek enterprise-wide change anchored in combat-tested resilience and 20 years of corporate leadership expertise.

  • With over three decades of experience : 10 yrs in the Indian Army and 20 yrs in corporate HR, and leadership transformation, my journey has always been about building people, shaping culture, and creating impact.
  • While I continue to partner with organizations on leadership excellence and culture transformation, I have also embraced a new passion project close to my heart — VaMiKa Heritage.
  • Born from a deep reverence for the feminine divine and rooted in the sacred name of Goddess Parvati, VaMiKa Heritage celebrates Indian craftsmanship through heirloom textiles, handlooms, and storytelling. It is my way of honoring tradition, empowering artisans, and embracing the ethos of slow fashion, conscious beauty, and soulful living.
  • For me, leadership and heritage are not separate paths — both are about preserving what matters, nurturing growth, and creating something meaningful for the future.
