• As part of the program I visited companies : Facebook, Tesla, IDEO, Jabil Blue Sky Innovation Centre, Google HQ, Galvanize, Autodesk, Orbital Insight and went for various industry lunches and panel discussions with employees and founders of these top companies in the Silicon Valley.
• I participated in activities like building a company in a day making over 1000$ in revenue which we donated to Palo Alto Animal Shelter, Making a prototype app for selling popsicles, Brainstorming various ideas and problems in teams.

• In my first year, I developed my idea to solve the problem of sharing books easily in small communities. I built a website and prototype app using Wordpress and Proto.io. I did a small research project and test pilot to see if the book exchange idea works. I built a system to implement it in my university and got an overwhelming response of books exchanged among 200 students. Later, after developing the idea further, I pitched it to venture capitalists.

• Under Professor Paromita Goswami’s guidance, I did consumer research on agricultural information development in India in a team of 4 students. We conducted interviews of government professionals in the field of agriculture and of Indian rural farmers currently working in 20-100 acre farms. We identified key problems in the accuracy of information available to farmers and the flow of information to such remote areas. We came up with innovative solutions to improve information accuracy and flow.
