• For a long time tenant referencing was a laborious and manual process. Tenants were delayed moving into properties, landlords and agencies had to wait days (or weeks) for references and the referencing companies themselves were very susceptible to fraud and human error.
• At Movem, we pioneered the process of using banking data to analyse transactional history, verifying income and previous rental payments instantly, and autonomously. This significantly lowered the cost of referencing, removed latency and our API provided a SAAS platform for other PropTech companies to quickly build on this functionality
• In 2018 Movem was acquired by Barbon Insurance Group, and the technology integrated into the core of their leading referencing brands: Homelet and Rentshield.
• I remained as CEO until July 2019, and will continue to support Movem and Barbon in an advisory capacity for the foreseeable future.
• Highlights

• o £100k Government Grant - Winner of the Rental Recognition Challenge 2018
• o Acquired by Barbon Insurance Group in 2018, in a profitable exit for all 500+ investors.
