About

My career journey started with a passion for technology and innovation, leading me from programming as a young enthusiast to earning an IT degree, and ultimately into the eGaming sector, where I’ve spent almost twenty years honing my expertise in product management, operations, and strategic leadership. Rising from an entry-level customer service role to President of WPT Global, the online gaming platform of the World Poker Tour, I’ve built a reputation for transparent communication, constructive challenge, and rapid growth. As a servant leader, I believe in empowering teams to do their best work by removing obstacles and fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. My approach centres on high standards and mutual respect; I encourage my team to challenge the status quo and each other - and of course this includes myself. This commitment to shared success creates an environment where diverse perspectives are valued, and innovative ideas thrive. My leadership philosophy combines strategic vision with a hands-on approach to governance, ensuring both agility in execution and a strong commitment to ethical standards. I am passionate about advancing my team, my organisation, and myself by building on yesterday’s achievements and setting ambitious goals for tomorrow.

Poker Room Analyst

Promoted

Nov 2007Oct 2010 · 2 yrs 11 mos

  • In my role as Poker Room Analyst, I had two key functions:
  • Managing the PokerStars.it site aimed at the Italian market. I was responsible for managing the tournament schedule, developing promotions in conjunction with the regional marketing teams, and general management of the site. In less than a year, PokerStars.it went from being a newcomer to the market to the largest independent operator in Italy.
  • I acted as a Business Analyst, designing new software features for the PokerStars product. This included some highly complex projects, such as support for Multi-Currency accounts and games, and time zone support which touched all aspects of the system, front and back-end. My experience as both a poker player and software developer gave me the ability to empathise with both the end user and the people engineering the software, and allowed me to make good compromises between quality and speed to market.
  • In my time in this role, I lent my skills to many other areas of the business, including Game Security (in particular, the prevention of collusion and bot usage), Content (writing and reviewing copy for the PokerStars web estate) and Poker Room Management (acting as an escalation point for poker issues, developing policies, and performing other general management tasks).
