Abhishek is an enthusiastic educationist by heart and has a profound interest in Public Policy, especially in Education. He currently serves as Innovation Officer at the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, AICTE, where he works with educational institutions to strengthen India’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. As a Zonal Coordinator Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), he engages with institutions, educators, and student leaders to foster a culture of innovation, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship on campuses. Besides IIC, he has led the IIC–ATL Mentoring Linkage Program to strengthen collaboration between higher education institutions and schools in nurturing young innovators. He has also contributed to national initiatives such as the Smart India Hackathon, Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, and Udyamotsav, among others, aimed at promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among students. Earlier he had worked with Government Schools on Principle Leadership, Teachers' Motivation, and System Transformation related projects in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh between 2013-2021. He worked with 8 Aspirational districts- Araria (Bihar), Damoh & Barwani (Madhya Pradesh), Kupwara & Baramula (Jammu-Kashmir), Chamba (Himachal Pradesh), and Moga & Ferozepur (Punjab) under NITI Aayog's initiative Aspirational District Program in a different capacity. He was associated with the Piramal Foundation, STiR Education, and the prestigious Gandhi Fellowship program. Before moving to the education sector, Abhishek worked with New Delhi-based Think Tank Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation as a Research Journalist for 2 years. During his college days, Abhishek was active in NCC in first year, then worked with NSS where he was a College President and led College/University team at various state/national events. Abhishek strives to facilitate better implementation of government policies at a large scale to ensure inclusive development. In his spare time, you can catch him mostly working with/Mentoring youth, traveling, speaking at different conferences/conclaves/workshops, or writing articles in national as well as regional magazines for various issues related to education. By education, he holds degrees in Economics, Sociology, Law, and Gender Studies, having studied at institutions such as BHU and the University of Delhi.
