This entailed engaging with senior executives in the enterprise and public speaking engagements to promote the Hedvig brand from a marketing/partnership perspective.
• Engineering/Product focus:
• Designer and co-implementor of successive releases of all Hedvig’s products.
• Designer and implementor of the Hedvig system. The system exported a single abstraction called a virtual disk that could be consumed either as a block/file/S3 bucket. The system was the first of its kind to be able to span multiple data centers including disparate cloud environments.
• Designer and implementor of Hedvig Pages, a system for metadata management of Hedvig’s distributed file system. Hedvig Pages system was a partitioned consistent replicated system that could span multiple physical data centers including disparate cloud environments.
• Co-designer and implementor of Hedvig Pod, a system for transaction management for driving consensus across Hedvig metadata system.
• Re-implemented a library for providing continuations in Java. This was heavily used across every subsystem to provide complete non-blocking capabilities.
• Implemented many low-level libraries used throughout Hedvig’s code base.
• Developer of several internal tools for improving productivity and debuggability of the Hedvig system in remote and managed environments.
• Substantial involvement in the recruitment process.
