  • I lead a team of 5 Ruby/Rails developers at Daasity. This includes one developer located within the USA and 4 developers located outside of the USA. The team and I work together to build new custom integrations (backend and frontend) and support customer support for triaging and fixing bugs within the software.
  • I started out as a developer building integrations and working on the platform. As the need grew for more integrations to be built, Daasity needed more developers. I created the job description and interviews, hired, and trained every developer brought into Daasity. I then was asked to lead this new team.
  • While leading the integration team, I took on the responsibility to build out the development side of customer support. Out of this effort came a support engineer rotation for the integration team. I then trained each developer in the role of triaging, bug research, and bug fixing. Through this training, I identified a candidate that I trained more extensively and then later promoted to lead support engineer. This individual then was tasked with managing the support engineer rotation and supporting the developer who is on rotation.
  • As the team grew, so did the need for processes. I worked with our project manager, CTO, and CEO to help build new processes for the spec-ing, building, testing, qa-ing, and releasing of a new integration. I implemented these processes which helped to reduce many hours of support related questions that came from the product, business, and sale teams. It also helped to refine the user experience.
  • Outside of this role, I also work with the platform team to help architect platform solutions, determine new patterns to follow, implement platform solutions, and help come up with OKR's (Objectives and Key Results) for the development team as a whole.

Senior Software Engineer

  • I primarily work on build new integrations that connect to 3rd party Apis (SOAP & REST), S3, SFTP, and Databases. These integrations perform the typical ELT (Extraction, Load, & Transform) workflow where there is a backend component that will extract data from the source, load it into one of our warehouses (Snowflake or Redshift), and from there will be transformed (via SQL) to it's final location in our warehouse. The frontend part of the integration allows for the customer/analyst to select an integration, enter their credentials, and then run either a historical load or an incremental load.
  • Technologies Used:
  • Ruby/Rails
  • PostgreSQL, Redshift, and Snowflake, MySQL, BigQuery
  • Frontend - HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, TailwindCSS
  • ES6, Stimulus.js
  • Sidekiq (Enterprise version)
  • AWS - S3, Redshift
  • Docker
  • Some 3rd party Apis that I have worked with:

  • When I was brought on by Pixlwise to build a 2d game that would teach internet marketing, I shared a vision with Pixlwise of creating a game platform used for teaching people valuable skills. The client was so thrilled with the idea, that we changed the 2d game into a game that would teach not only internet marketing, but also built a platform where other games could be built upon to teach people.
  • I was instrumental in the creation of the idea that formed this company, as well as the chief architect who built the solutions. My ideas lead to meetings with very high level investors in Silicon Valley who took a keen interest in watching the platform being built.
