About

With 30 years of international business, legal and corporate leadership experience, Alexia Maas is a guiding compass for forward-thinking enterprises, leveraging a spirit of thoughtful inquiry and agile decision making to carve an impactful path forward through change and ambiguity. Deep experience serving as a trusted adviser during high-profile global crises in highly regulated industries, building best-in-class legal and compliance functions, and managing risk in rapidly evolving technology and geopolitical landscapes are a few of the strengths she is known for. An experienced Chief Legal Officer who led the global legal and compliance function for over 10 years at Volvo Financial Services, a global organization with $25B+ managed assets, operating in 48 countries around the world and regulated as a bank in 14 countries. Alexia is an innovative leader and recently published a new book “Stealing Back™ TIME” in which she challenges the status quo by redefining time management and operational efficiency: helping leaders achieve more by doing less. An impactful corporate Board Member and Board Advisor for public and private companies around the world. Alexia led global reporting for VFS into the publicly traded AB Volvo board of directors and was vetted and approved by the Royal Bank of India for appointment to the board of directors of VFS India. As senior European counsel for CHC Helicopter Corp, Alexia held several directorships including Board Director of their primary operational company in Europe and as company secretary to the group’s external European board. Alexia has been a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors since 2020. Nonprofit & Entrepreneurial Leadership: Alexia was a Co-Founder of regional nonprofit organization, Triad International Ballet, and served as Executive Director since its inception in 2021 until early 2025 structuring and growing the company to a sustainable operation and helping to drive corporate and public fundraising. In addition, she is the Founder of her own publishing, coaching & consulting company, Maas Leadership LLC. And last, but not least, before becoming a lawyer, Alexia was a professional ballet dancer! Here’s what Alexia says about her ballet career: “I learned a great deal about leadership and professional success from my early ballet days such as the importance of teamwork and key leadership skills including self-discipline, motivation, striving for excellence (not perfection!), poise, hard work and perseverance – and last, but not least, grace in all things”
