About

My team and I are building https://alpaca.markets/, a global brokerage infrastructure, which hundreds of banks, brokerage firms, and fintech companies build investing applications with. Also, Alpaca’s developer-friendly API allows programmatic traders to access and automate trading across multiple asset classes from one consolidated account. Alpaca's infrastructure includes end-to-end brokerage features such as account opening, KYC, trade execution, clearing, custody, and reporting, and is supported by tens of thousands of active developers. If you're a fintech founder or CEO/CTO building something new in the world of investing and trading, I'm happy to chat and brainstorm with you :) Prior to launching https://alpaca.markets/ in 2018, I had worked in a variety of positions in the world of derivatives, securitization, forex, and more. I then co-founded and sold a couple of machine learning businesses that solved data-intensive problems of financial institutions and technology companies using big data processing and deep learning technologies.

Associate - Securitized Products / Alternative Products

Apr 2005Sep 2008 · 3 yrs 5 mos · Tokyo, Japan

  • At Securitized Product team, I led the Lehman’s Asian syndication effort of securitized products while working closely with New York and London desks. There, we distributed USD6.5BN of securitized products to the institutional investors in Asia and was a key member of the global team, when Lehman Brothers was awarded Securitization House of the Year in 2006 by International Financing Review. I provided intensive knowledge and experience on the US/Euro securitized products, and provided consultation to the Japanese financial institutions how to make analysis of the US consumer credit risk utilizing IntexDesktop, and also consulted a major trading corporation that wanted to implement ABX index trading capability.
  • I also led the firm’s Asian expansion of the insurance linked securities as well as catastrophe bonds, and traded the primary and secondary issuance. I also consulted major Japanese casualty insurance company to diversify their casualty risk portfolio with catastrophe bonds. I also took a part in structuring and marketing highly complex credit derivative products such as SIV (Structured Investment Vehicle) and SRC (Security Repo Conduit) which are backed by both corporate and consumer credit risk. I also did securitization of esoteric risk including but not limited by lease receivables of aircraft and cars.
