About

I deeply care about impact work that is grounded in local realities and built to last. Not just on a slide deck, but in the governance, feedback loops, and processes that communities and institutions can actually use. That means spending a lot of time in the middle. Cross-sector partnerships can unlock real resources and legitimacy, but they also bring up difficult questions - about voice, accountability, and whose definition of "success" prevails. I try to navigate this by listening carefully to community priorities, making room for disagreement, and translating between stakeholders so that dialogue leads to decisions and follow-through. Over the past seven years, I've worked across 19 Indian states and contributed to 130+ CSR projects alongside 40+ non-profits and academic partners, helping mobilise 4,300+ employees for 40,000+ hours of community engagement and reaching nearly 2.2 million people. The scale matters, but it has also pushed me to think harder about quality, legitimacy, and what responsible stewardship looks like after the programme ends. These experiences have shaped my research interests in business ethics, sustainability management, ESG governance, and the institutional conditions that enable or perhaps undermine collective action? I'm particularly drawn to accountability paradoxes - how organisations can become more transparent and responsive without flattening complex social realities into what is easiest to measure. Writing is how I work through the contradictions that I see around me. My essays are based in the uneven center (?) of progress - looking past clean narratives to the friction of reality - wandering into culture, language, and human behaviour whenever that's where the real question lives. India Leader - Corporate Social Responsibility

Jul 2022Present · 3 yrs 10 mos · Bengaluru · Remote

  • An enduring experiment in the GCC Universe; this role has been special for me because it has helped me discover the fine balance between being a specialist and a generalist.
  • Working with some of the most empathic leaders I have ever met, I am deeply enjoying the opportunity to foster strategic and programmatic CSR maturity by building systems, processes and collaborative capabilities from the scratch and ground-up.

Manager - Sustainability

  • This was a brief, yet challenging gig nonetheless; I managed to do a few things here and there, but they were too few and far in-between to create outcomes.
  • That said, I learnt a lot about cultivating patience and resilience. I also learnt the art of expectation reconciliation of a job/role and what it means to 'manage' people both vertically and horizontally.
  • Ultimately, I left because I couldn't 'reconcile' my core values with that of the company and its ways of working.

Assistant Manager - Sustainability & Responsibility

  • First job ever; it helped me build the foundation of corporate responsibility praxis after two brilliant years at TISS.
  • I had an exponential learning curve, where I led many wonderful things with a myriad stakeholders and sometimes these things were not really commensurate with my age and experience. I also imbibed some really good work ethics and values right off the bat and invariably, some not so good as well. This was also the place where my ideas met the real world for the first time and thus began the perennial journey of becoming and unbecoming.
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the ride until I didn't and when the time was ripe, I let it go.
