Ioana Colfescu — AI Researcher
As a Principal Research Fellow at the National Centre for Atmospheric Science and St Andrews University I lead a research group where we use climate models and observational data to understand and predict climate variability and extremes using AI and ML. Along this I serve as a Member of the EPSRC Review College, I am part of the Meetings and Conferences Committee member for the Royal Meteorological Society and, as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Oxford and a Content Committee member for the Climate Change AI Course, I apply my expertise in climate dynamics, data analysis, and machine learning to investigate and communicate the causes and consequences of climate change. I am passionate about learning and solving complex problems, and when not at work I enjoy being outdoors, photography, and spending time with my family.
