Benedict Wagstaff — Co-Founder
A builder of businesses, business units and teams. An entrepreneurial leader that has worked at the intersections of advertising technology, retail media and data for over a decade. Benny was a founding member of the team that helped The Trade Desk become a key player in retail media - going from our first client to a leading offsite technology partner for the worlds' largest retailers. The cross-functional team focused on turning first-party data assets into significant revenue streams for retailers and commerce media players. Before that he helped The Trade Desk launch the Service Partner Program to tackle the opportunity of the SMB market. Previously, he held executive roles (as COO and CEO) at startups in the data integration, product/project management and natural language processing/artificial intelligence spaces. He also worked 5+ years at AppNexus (now part of Microsoft Advertising) helping scale the Global Accounts business which worked with our most strategic advertisers globally. As part of that work he worked closely with AT&T through their acquisition of the business and was involved in the integration of the company post acquisition. Benny has a strong understanding of how to build retail media networks, how to build optimal advertising technology stacks, how to prepare for changes in the identity landscape and how to build successful business units and startups. Now, building the solution to the problems he saw in Commerce Media at Carter, he's dedicated to revolutionizing the Retail Media landscape by helping retailers' seize control of their destiny and the ecosystems roadmap. He's been fortunate to play a role in the IAB Tech Lab’s Retail Media Working Group (driving oRTB for onsite retail media), the council of the Ascendent Network's work in Retail Media and helped support broader IAB initiatives to benefit the adtech community.
