Sr. Director, Special Projects

Sep 2021May 2022 · 8 mos

  • I lead the Special Projects team at GitHub, a customer-obsessed team of PMs & engineers, with the mission to address top customer friction encountered by developers as they're using GitHub.
  • In the past year, the team tackled over 100 customer-facing product improvements, building excitement in the open source community (and measured through their reactions to our releases) and trust with our Enterprise customers. As a leader, I more than doubled the size of the team across PM and engineering, leading in a high performing, diverse team and helped design a solid process to continuously prioritize and release value to customers.

  • During this time, I helped taking App Center from a beta product to GA (November 2017), and in May 2018 my team was among the first partners to integrate with the new GitHub Checks API with a presence at the //build conference keynote.
  • In my role, I lead a team of program managers which owned few different services in App Center which allow users to build their apps in the cloud, test them on real devices and ship them to the App Store and Google Play Store. My team took customer obsession to heart, and worked together with UX researchers and designers to listen to our customers, ship new (or improved) experiences and measure their business impact.
  • In Summer 2018 I was part of the integration team which worked on the GitHub acquisition, and I led the Product work stream of the acquisition.

  • Between 2014 and 2015, I was a PM on the XBOX Live team. My responsibilities included running the GameDVR offering on Xbox One, also known as "Xbox, record that", including user-facing features as well as financial projections and optimizations for a responsible usage of storage and encoding services (which were expensive at the time).
  • Following that, I worked as a PM on the Analytics offering of HockeyApp, and then App Center.

  • I was part of the Hybris Labs team and focused on exploring and prototyping new technologies and concepts in combination with eCommerce. The technologies at that time were around IoT and Voice UIs, and the prototypes I built were using mobile apps and shown to consumers at conferences around the world as a way to get early feedback to be included in the Hybris (now SAP) offering.
