• Upon relocation to Sussex, I undertook a number of independent PR consultant contracts - sometimes continuing the boomerang back to connections in London and others exploring Sussex agency life.
• Alongside this, I embarked on some volunteerism with Winston's Wish, a charity which helps bereaved children and their family members through the loss of a loved one.
• Key contributions:
• Advising a boutique healthcare agency to grow into the consumer food arena as part of positioning for sale.
• Mentoring the MD of a niche agency on achieving international growth ambitions.
• Proposing a joint venture between bereavement charity with leading life insurance company to deliver against funding imperatives (and benefit from profile-raising).

• After returning from a few years living in NYC, I rejoined H+K to take a senior role on the Pampers account - a brand I had supported earlier in my agency career. This role focused on stabilising and strengthening a complex international remit: overseeing the GBU business at a strategic counsel level, while guiding the delivery team through operational change and renewed direction. As the work regained momentum and client confidence, H+K was awarded the UK Pampers remit too, growing the overall business to a £1M portfolio.

• Relocated to New York for a family adventure - grew our family and enjoyed a rich mix of marketing projects for an Angel Investor and skills-based volunteerism.

• Supporting a time of dynamic acquisitions and establishing critical mass in a new area for the business at the same time as linking a mix of people and consolidating clients in the new landscape.
• Overseeing clients spanning a pharma remit for Pfizer – a strategic market assessment and campaign development project for a women’s long-term contraceptive. Nestle food business including Carnation, Herta, Buitoni as well as chilled yoghurt drink, Sveltesse Optimise.
• Co-Marketing work with Sainsbury’s and omega three enriched Columbus eggs. Moving Accantia (Simple and Lil-lets) from a product mindset to a bold brand-led positioning. Award winning campaign for medical healthcare (implant) product – Zimmer. New client wins, from LA Fitness with an aggressive lead generation need sitting alongside a brand reputation brief, through to fruit company Del Monte.

• Leading the consumer-health division at board level, specialising in cross-territory health education campaigns. Evolving remit within Nestle Cereal Partners from building nutrition credentials for the adults/kids brands through to strategic counsel on more global message positioning/ issues work in the context the obesity megatrend - which necessitated building a network at senior levels to secure strategic buy-in, going on to coach the markets.

• Elevated Weber Shandwick’s consumer practice through board-level strategic counsel and integrated leadership across health, FMCG, and corporate sectors, through a time of mergers and acquisitions.
• Held senior strategic responsibility for a £1.5 million portfolio, advising the board and shaping priorities that aligned creative-led communications driving measurable brand and commercial growth.
• Led a 20-person team delivering multi-sector communications - from global campaign coordination for Nicorette, to strategic leadership across Boots Healthcare, and consumer remits that amplified corporate/investor relations for Unilever.
• Additional remits included high-profile consumer and corporate briefs for Nestlé (confectionery), Woolworths, and P&O Cruises - including crisis and reputation management briefs.

• Drove the high-impact European PR launch of Benecol, a category-defining functional food brand and a first for the functional foods market. Partnered closely with the in-house marketer at McNeil Consumer Nutritionals to act as a strategic extension of the in-house team - a unique, start-up style collaboration that helped bring Benecol to market with bold storytelling, clarity of purpose, and measurable influence. Directed UK delivery and cross-market coordination across five H+K offices, generating a fee income of over £2.5 million and positioning Benecol as a pioneering force in heart health.
• Following promotion, I led the UK launch of Ariel Tablets for P&G - steering the narrative around product innovation and consumer adoption for a flagship household brand.

• Led community investment initiatives including Shell LiveWIRE, Shell STEP, and Better Britain - targeting youth engagement and social impact.
• Additionally, invited onto the team with international responsibility for Ballantine’s Finest - a consumer-facing perception-shift brief with issues-sensitivity, requiring nuanced messaging across multiple markets.
