About

Licensed Texas attorney and senior HR executive with 20+ years of experience at the intersection of employment law and people strategy. I hold a J.D. and M.B.A. from Texas Tech University, along with SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications — and I've spent my career doing the work these credentials represent, not just holding them. I've served as a Chief People Officer, led HR for government entities, managed multinational workforce transitions across six countries, taught Employment & Labor Law at the university level, and advised executives and governing boards on complex employment matters. My experience spans wage & hour compliance, OFCCP regulatory matters, executive compensation, ERISA and retirement plan governance, workplace investigations, cross-border employment law, and management of international outside counsel. I have guided employers through ADA accommodations, FMLA administration, EEOC complaint resolution, and ACA penalty investigations — conducting certified reviews, correcting filings, and resubmitting documentation that reduced IRS-imposed fines by tens of thousands of dollars. I have also negotiated directly with opposing counsel to resolve FMLA and ADA complaints, and responded to EEOC complaints, achieving dismissals that protected employers from significant legal exposure. I passed an OFCCP audit with zero findings, with the AAP I created and managed with managers and leaders. My experience translates to results. What I bring to clients and colleagues is something I genuinely value: the perspective of someone who has sat on both sides of the table. I know what it feels like to be the HR leader fielding a difficult termination at 5pm on a Friday, to prepare for a board meeting on a sensitive workforce matter, to navigate a government audit with real stakes, or to be contacted by a former employee's counsel regarding an employment law complaint. I understand how businesses actually operate — what is at stake, what it takes to scale compliantly, and how to bring sound business judgment to employment law matters. That experience shapes how I counsel — practically, thoughtfully, and with genuine care for the people and organizations involved. I am the founder of Taylor Employment Law, PLLC, providing employer-side employment law counsel to Texas businesses, and Taylor Workplace Partners, LLC, offering strategic HR advisory services and Fractional HR leadership to organizations around the United States. I am passionate about helping employers build workplaces that are people-centered, legally sound, and positioned to thrive.
