• My role involves me to advise businesses/corporates on customs and trade matters involving classification and valuation on import, duty exemptions, schemes, etc. across sectors such as consumer electronic goods, automobile, FMCG, telecom, etc.
• I have been helping companies in setting-up internal processes for customs related compliances, optimizing import duties through various import and export incentive schemes; helping in usage and implementation of these schemes under the Foreign Trade Policy, etc.
• I have assisted various multinationals in exploring alternate supply chains for cost-saving using the Free Trade Agreements and helped in operationalizing the benefits therein.
• One of my core KPIs is building the Customs and Trade practice for PwC India, wherein I have been supporting my colleagues pan-India in terms of thought leadership, identifying and tapping the Go-to-Market customs opportunities, capacity building, knowledge sharing, vetting the firm's position in complex customs matters, etc.
• I have been a regular contributor to subject related webinars, workshops, news alerts, brochures, etc. in terms of preparing the concept, invitation and content, both internally for PwC India as well as externally. I have been a speaker at technical sessions (the Customs Masterclasses) in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (FICCI)
• I am also involved in ideation, conceptualization, and design of a technology-enabled solution for customs related compliances that will mitigate the risk of errors/ missing compliance deadlines and bring about consistency in disclosures for importing and exporting companies.
• On the policy front, I have been a core member/ Manager of the team engaged as knowledge partners to the Task Force constituted by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India to study the SEZ policy of India, it’s challenges and suggest policy contours compatible with the WTO requirements.
