  • Kickstarted and completely took responsibility for a responsive and reactive web application called Patient DB(also named patient progression), which is a clinician-based web portal to submit and review collected patient metadata and enable monitoring of patient status and progression throughout the study. The application is used by the Australian National University and Canberra Hospital.
  • Designed the whole look of the website using Vuetfiy to create custom themes and created custom components.
  • Created a highly concurrent frontend app and API server using async/await in JavaScript and Python, which increased the overall performance metrics of the whole application by threefold.
  • Integrated OpenID Connect for authentication using Authorization Code Flow with PKCE with Australian Access Federation as the Authorization server entirely in frontend javascript using SDKs, and added other security checks and flows like Token Handler Pattern. Implemented necessary security features, headers in the app, HTTP cookies etc. to prevent injection attacks like XSS, SQL injection and other attacks like CSRF.
  • Setup the whole application architecture in NCI server(https://nci.org.au/) using Nginx along with VueJS3, uvicorn, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, linting tools, sqlalchemy and alembic.
  • Mentored two interns and a colleague to help with collaborative development and good contribution flow, as well as weekly workshops and documentation. Introduced CI/CD pipelines with pre-commit and Jenkins.

  • Worked on various high-impact open-source Python projects like ExecutableBooks (https://executablebooks.org), which creates beautiful, publication-quality books and documents from computational content, and QuantEcon, which is a platform to teach programming and quantitative economics. CI/CD workflow was created using GitHub Actions, leveraging pre-commit for code sanity, Netlify for build previews, pytest, Jest and browserstack for unit, integration and A/B tests. Releases to PyPI and conda-forge were also automated and triggered whenever a new version was created in GitHub.
  • The main package(jupyter-book) of which I am the third highest contributor has 3.7k stars and have been downloaded and used by 14k people according to Github. Contributor to dozens other packages from executableboks and QuantEcon projects, accumulating over 7k stars in Github. Sole owner of two packages named jupyterbook-latex and sphinx-multitoc-numbering. And sole maintainer of quantecon-book-theme, which is a Jinja(HTML templating engine),Javascript and Python based theme used by QuantEcon labs.
  • Mentored and guided research assistants and interns on the team, including assigning tasks and transferring knowledge.
  • Made significant improvements in the performance metrics of the web pages and the overall organization's SEO. Used Amazon S3, EC2 and lambda functions for deployment.
