• Led Terraview’s globally distributed backend team that is responsible for creating microservices based APIs powering the core platform and internal admin portals. The Terraview team is solving complex geo-spatial data storage and analysis related challenges and also ingesting huge amount of weather and agri-sensors data to provide meaningful alerts to consumers by way of complex rule processing and using machine learning to identify and predict crop diseases using imaging.

• Co-founded Superise.com in early 2015 which in almost an year became the youngest fastest growing real estate tech companies in India. As head of product engineering and marketing, led a team of 35+ engineers, product specialist, designers, quality analysts, content producers and digital marketeers who were building a world class real estate platform. The platform consisted of a state of the art listing portal with search enhanced by natural language processing algorithms, pricing and payment plan engine that made area/pricing a transparent affair even before RERA was implemented, a 3D unit selection module that allowed buyers to check unit availability and Vaastu using visual medium to navigate through the property, an internal CRM and an ERP created from scratch specific for real estate buy and sell workflows taking into consideration the complex payment scheduling services. The organization did tremendously well until demonetization, after which the industry was severely hit. The operations were shutdown in Jan 2021 after running it for couple of years without significant profits.

Responsibilities included coding, managing the team, guiding engineers for technical / scalability issues and challenges, SRE, Code reviews and hiring.

• Letsbuy was a very popular e-commerce portal offering large array of electronics products and gadgets with huge discounts. It was later acquired by flipkart.
• I was leading/Mentoring teams responsible for designing and developing letsbuy’s Content Management System (GWT), Reporting Module (Pentaho), Module for ERP integration (Java, HornetQ, Axis), Order Manager (PHP) and Product Search Engine (SOLR). Was also a part of team that took care of the site reliability. The tasks included horizontal scaling of web-servers, re-structuring mysql setup in the form of master and slaves, and moving search, product data entry and ERP functions out of the main platform’s scope for scalability. Was also responsible for training warehouse staff for using Microsoft’s Navision (ERP) and managing technology side of order fulfillment and dispatch.

• Led a large sized engineering team that helped implement a healthcare product for Danish hospitals that was used to maintain electronic patient records, clinical data for patients, communicate data with legacy systems using HL7 based messaging. Supported thick (java swing based) and thin (web) clients using Service Oriented Architecture.
• Worked two years as Senior Software Engineer responsible for writing messaging module, creating XML based messaging artifacts, client side printing using Java Print API, creating HL7 diagrams (UML) for new modules, creating EJB based services for new modules.
• Next two years as Team Lead responsible for all the above mentioned responsibilities as well as mentoring new joiners, decision making for third party products to be used for the system, code review, module design, issue resolving for java swing/ant/cvs/svn/app-server related problems, maintaining database and application servers.
• Next Six months as Manager (Technology) responsible for managing a team of around 20 engineers, module design, code reviews, quality, issue resolving (as mentioned above) and POC for new technology to be introduced.

• Led the development of an internal test automation framework written in TSL using WinRunner. The framework which was used by hundreds of QA team members made the job of writing test scripts relatively easy.
• The second project was a java struts based web application. I was responsible for requirements analysis, data and object model design and documentation, implementing business rules, java based application development and unit testing of my modules.

• Started as a junior member of the small sized engineering team for a United Nations University Project based out of Japan. Initial responsibilities included implementing pl/sql scripts for a BI module and developing java based web application for new features. In a span of 18 months I was leading the project taking care of application development, SRE, team management and internal project audits.
