About

I build AI operations and data platform products that help companies ship AI to production reliably. Currently VP Product at InfinyOn, where I'm leading our pivot to CoAgent - a logging, testing, and monitoring system for Gen AI applications and Agents that gives teams confidence to deploy AI agents and workflows to production. The problem we're solving is critical: 95% of AI projects fail to reach production not because of model issues, but because teams lack operational visibility. CoAgent gives engineering teams the testing and monitoring infrastructure they need to answer "Why did my agent fail?" before their customers do. Over the past decade, I've built products that drove real business impact: - 5K+ GitHub stars and hundreds of thousands of users (InfinyOn - Fluvio open source) - $5K MRR with first 6-figure enterprise deal (InfinyOn - Stateful Dataflow) - 3 enterprise pilots in 6 months (CoAgent) - $7M+ pipeline in first year (Jungle Scout - Data Brokerage product) - $100M+ annual cost savings (GM - AI insurance claims automation) My approach combines deep technical understanding with product discipline. I speak fluent product, data, systems, and AI/ML/DL. I'm equally comfortable in enterprise sales calls, defining GTM strategy, and building product-led growth motions. I've led teams from seed stage (employee #7 at Kovid Labs) to Fortune 50 (GM's 165K+ employees). Before focusing on AI operations, I spent years in the trenches building AI/ML systems across regulated industries: surveillance tech (Kovid Labs), pharmaceutical R&D (DataFoundry), automotive manufacturing (GM), and eCommerce intelligence (Jungle Scout). This cross-industry experience taught me that production AI is less about fancy models and more about operational excellence. Right now, I'm obsessed with making AI operations boring in the best way - reliable, observable, testable. The same way CI/CD made web deployments boring 15 years ago, we're doing that for AI. My technical foundation includes Computer Science Engineering and hands-on experience across the full stack - from data collection and labeling to model training to production deployment. Always happy to chat about: - AI operations and observability - Data platforms and distributed systems - Product strategy for technical products - 0-to-1 product launches and GTM - Early-stage startup advising (especially AI/data infrastructure) DM me on LinkedIn or email: debadyuti.roychowdhury@gmail.com Let's build AI systems that actually work in production.

Infinyon

VP Product - Data & AI

Jan 2023Jan 2026 · 3 yrs · Waterloo, Ontario, Canada · Remote

  • I joined InfinyOn as employee #12 at seed stage with a mandate: achieve product-market fit and build a sustainable business around our open source streaming platform, Fluvio.
  • I am Leading the AI Operations Pivot (2025) I led our strategic pivot to AI operations with CoAgent (coa.dev) - positioning it as "Logging, Testing, Monitoring for GenAI applications and agents."
  • The insight: 95% of AI projects fail to reach production not from model issues, but lack of operational visibility. I personally led discovery, sales, and executive alignment, securing 3 commercial pilots in 6 months (enterprise software, text-to-SQL, financial services).
  • Our differentiation came from positioning - framing CoAgent as AI Engineers already understand, not "another AI tool."
  • Building the Revenue Engine (2023-2024) - I launched Stateful Dataflow with YAML/SQL interfaces for stateful stream processing, solving our biggest gap: enterprises needed state management for real-time analytics.
  • Results: first 6-figure enterprise deal plus 3 additional customers, growing MRR to $5K.
  • Growing Open Source CommunityLed strategy to optimize Fluvio's binary 10x, driving GitHub stars from 1.2K to 5K+, monthly downloads to tens of thousands, and community reach to hundreds of thousands. Attracted enterprise validation through contributions from Tencent, Alibaba, Walmart, AWS, plus integrations with NATS, DuckDB, Qdrant, Arroyo.
  • I also co-led organizational restructuring from 15 to 5 people to move faster and extend runway.
  • I've co-owned end-to-end product: strategy, roadmap, pricing/packaging, and GTM across OSS, cloud, and enterprise.

Group Product Manager - Data & AI

Nov 2021Dec 2022 · 1 yr 1 mo · Waterloo, Ontario, Canada · Remote

  • Promoted from Senior PM to Group PM within first review cycle, inheriting 5 PMs, 5 teams, and the entire data platform when my manager left after 2 weeks.
  • Data as a service - New Revenue Stream
  • Within 3 months, my data platform team delivered to the first Data Brokerage/DaaS customer. The DaaS product became Jungle Scout's third product line and highest ACV offering (high 6-figure to 7-figure deals).
  • We built $5M+ year-one pipeline, securing household-name retailers and eCommerce aggregators.
  • Enabled product-led growth via Snowflake Data Cloud and AWS Data Exchange for try-before-buy.
  • Fixing Unit Economics
  • When I joined, our hosting costs were completely unsustainable. My data platform squad delivered a 9-month operational efficiency program: pipeline re-engineering, observability, governance streamlining, and vendor negotiations. Results: 70% reduction in hosting costs, transforming data/AI gross margins from negative to healthy.
  • Team Leadership
  • Led data platform portfolio across Data Collection, Platform, Data Science, ML Ops, and Frontend. Hired/backfilled 3 PMs. Managed teams running thousands of ML models powering competitive intelligence, trends, and our new data brokerage business.

Senior Software Engineer

Jun 2014Jul 2014 · 1 mo

  • Allscripts is a leading healthcare software company delivering operational SaaS across the entire healthcare continuum. I focused on analytics software development, user acceptance testing, backlog management, and customer support for hospital systems.
  • Building Big Data Infrastructure
  • Collaborated with engineering to build MVP big data platform processing 4 TB of clinical data on private cloud. This was early days of healthcare analytics - pre-cloud infrastructure, heavy regulatory requirements, and complex data integration across disparate hospital systems.
  • Enterprise Healthcare Delivery
  • Delivered prioritized analytics product specs for 50+ US hospitals, each with up to 1,000 users. Managed the complexity of enterprise healthcare: long sales cycles, strict compliance requirements, and mission-critical systems where downtime affects patient care. Learned to balance innovation with reliability in regulated environments.

Tappozz lifestyle private limited

Head of Product & Co-founder

Apr 2014Jul 2016 · 2 yrs 3 mos · Bengaluru Area, India

  • Co-founded Tappozz as a direct-to-consumer eCommerce brand for avant-garde interchangeable footwear and accessories. Led product vision and digital execution while co-founders handled fashion design and marketing.
  • Building the Business Model
  • This was my first full-time startup - learning by doing. I ran 100+ MVP experiments in 9 months to find product-market fit and optimize sales channels. Tested everything: different product configurations, pricing strategies, customer acquisition channels, checkout flows, and messaging. The rapid experimentation taught me how to fail fast and iterate based on real customer feedback.
  • Building Digital Infrastructure
  • Designed and developed our digital storefront from scratch - this was before Shopify made it easy. Built the eCommerce platform to showcase our unique interchangeable footwear system, handle inventory, process payments, and manage customer orders. Generated $100K in revenue in first 6 months.
  • Go-to-Market Execution
  • Defined and executed GTM strategy to acquire our first 1,000 customers. Learned the fundamentals of customer acquisition, retention, and unit economics. Tested paid channels, content marketing, influencer partnerships, and referral programs to find what worked for a fashion brand with limited budget.
  • Key Lessons
  • This startup taught me the fundamentals of 0-to-1 product development: validate assumptions quickly, talk to customers constantly, and don't fall in love with your first idea. These lessons shaped my approach to product leadership in every role since.
