Masters thesis on, Mobile Air Quality monitoring using low cost sensors to identify hotpots in Chennai city by creating spatio-temporal Air quality maps
Conducted mobile air quality monitoring using these low cost air quality sensors by travelling through major corridors in Chennai city using public transport. By logging GPS co-ordinates simultaneously, we were able to map the pollution levels using ArcGis software
These mobile air quality monitors can be fitted to public buses to measure pollution levels on real-time with location accuracy which can be used to alert citizens to take alternative routes with lower pollution levels
This data on long term can be used as a part of city development plans
