• As part of the core engineering team at Naukri.com, India’s leading job portal, I worked on two of the company’s most critical revenue-generating products — Resdex and Job Posting, which together contributed to over 80% of the company’s revenue.
• My role spanned across feature development, performance optimization, and backend scalability. I was also responsible for managing the production web and database infrastructure, ensuring high availability and near 100% uptime across the board.
• This role gave me deep exposure to building and maintaining large-scale systems that directly impact millions of users.

Jun 2010 – Nov 2011 · 1 yr 5 mos

• At Educomp, India’s largest education and e-learning company at the time, I worked on a suite of web-based products including StudyPlaces.com, LearnHub.com, and JumboTests.com.
• My focus was on building scalable, user-centric platforms for online lead generation and student counseling, primarily targeting students aspiring for higher education abroad. These products combined content, community, and data-driven matching to help students make better academic decisions.
• This role deepened my understanding of product-market fit, user behavior at scale, and building technology for real-world impact in the education space.

Aug 2007 – Jun 2010 · 2 yrs 10 mos

• At SlideShare — one of the world’s largest platforms for sharing presentations online (later acquired by LinkedIn) — I worked on building core features and scaling the product for a global audience.
• I developed the SlideShare API and the search frontend, enabling deeper integrations and better content discoverability. I also led the development of the SlideShare OpenSocial applications for LinkedIn and Facebook, extending the platform’s reach and engagement across major social networks.
• Working in a fast-paced product environment with teams across India and the US, I gained first-hand experience in building for scale, performance, and global users.

Dec 2006 – Apr 2007 · 4 mos

• During my internship at TIFR, I worked on a Concept-to-Word Mapping system (Reverse Dictionary) under the guidance of Dr. Nandini Bondale.
• The project involved applying Natural Language Processing and semantic web technologies — including ontologies, OWL, and OWL-QL — to build a system that could intelligently infer the most relevant dictionary word from a given concept or description.
• This experience gave me early exposure to research-driven software development, AI reasoning techniques, and the potential of language understanding in real-world applications.
