I am a Senior Research Scientist at IBM Research AI, India Lab managing speech and language technologies group. My team works on cutting edge research problems on retrieval and its most prominent applications such as RAG. We are focused on making applied research advances that enables immediate use in products. We are contributing to IBM Watsonx series of model offerings, especially on the embedding model sides. My academic brief is : I have done Masters of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur 2013, where I had received Academic Excellence Award. Prior to that, I received my Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science and Technology from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, 2011. My current research interests include applications for Natural Language Understading, Embedding based retrieval and applications such as RAG, Question Answering, Semantic Reasoning. I have publications at top conferences like VLDB, IJCAI, SIGMOD, IEEE SCC etc. and have served as Program Committee members for AAAI, SIGMOD, ICDE etc. I have more than 30 patents (granted/filed) in USPTO as of Dec-2023.
