For over 20 years, I sat on the other side of the table. I interviewed thousands of students. I reviewed countless resumes. I watched brilliant, capable candidates walk out of interviews unsure of themselves, not because they lacked talent, but because they lacked guidance and strategy. At EY, I led Talent Acquisition strategy and spent two decades attracting, and developing early-career talent. I saw what worked, what didn’t, and how much of the recruiting process is invisible to students who are trying to break in for the first time. Here’s the hard truth: Most college students are expected to navigate recruiting on their own, without context, insider insight, or a clear strategy. They flounder. They second-guess themselves. They miss opportunities not because they aren’t good enough, but because no one ever showed them how the system actually works. That never sat right with me because I’ve been there. This work is deeply personal. I had very little help navigating the job search process myself. As a self-starter and first-generation college graduate, I was figuring things out as I went. I learned through trial, error, and grit. I co-founded LaunchPoint Talent to give students and early-career professionals what I wish I’d had: clarity on what I was seeking, confidence that I had the skills to succeed, and insider insight into how recruiting really works. We help students articulate their story, stand out in a competitive (AI-driven) market, and move through the job search with intention.
