• Revamped the complete CI/CD pipeline to allow git commit message-based controlled triggers for system deployments which implements security best practices by using session-based AWS SSM send-command to run bash scripts for deployment on various systems, keeping the SSH port private and no sharing of credentials in the process. Optimised full system deployment(6 monolithic services) to complete within 2 minutes while keeping a minimum scope for system downtime.
• Implemented Master-Replica-Replica setup for our global Redis server with automatic failover using Redis Sentinel for high availability.
• Reduced overall AWS infrastructure cost by ~600$/mo + (~300$/mo savings plan) by reconfiguring/reducing our on-demand EC2 instances to cost-efficient machine types by understanding existing resource utilisation while making sure the scope of vertical and horizontal scaling.
• Bought all system resource utilisation >50% by implementing effective clustering on 70% available resources per instance, and distributing various processes on underutilised instances.
• Self-hosted Signoz for observability and telemetry data collection stack, migrated Stratzy's blog from WordPress to self-hosted Ghost CMS, migrated AMI-based Redash installation to self-hosted non-AMI
• installation, self-hosted Discourse for the Stratzy community website, and manages all these systems and infra services.
• Mitigated a full-service cyber attack of a modified version of advanced crypto mining malware, Kingsing, which used Redis and AWS VPC open port scan to remotely execute the malware, taking available compute, and export private keys and file credentials to a malicious remote system.
• Implemented many solutions and industry best practices to secure all the infrastructure from cyber attacks and security threats.
• Writing shell automations for day-to-day tasks and working on implementing other important infrastructure-related things, such as logging stack, incident reporting, etc.
