• Leading a team of 25 mobile engineers (iOS+Android) focusing on Faster Feedback for engineers (local, CI builds, CD), Easy use building blocks (SDKs), making sure we have a Lightweight, High-Performant mobile app. As a part of Engineering Platforms, DevX is now the de-facto platform team for any mobile engineering consultation.

• The DevX is now split into three pods: Build (faster compilation, better CI/CD), Release (shipping to the app store and observability of builds), and Framework (building ready to use components in-house).
• Took charge of the Framework pod (15 strong iOS and Android engg) and delivered on the unification of Gojek, GoViet, Get apps, an easy to use configuration SDK, A/B Testing, Analytics SDK, evaluating and integrating with a third party Identity Security SDK, an in-app debug utility and much more ad-hoc tools.

• In the last three years, the Gojek iOS app moved from a 3 product app written by a handful of engineers to 20+ services, built by 50+ engineers; from using internal pods to submodules (30+).
• The Developer Experience (DevX) team was set up to tackle build systems, automating trivial tasks during software development (e.g: release, programming env update), and other platform-specific challenges. The goal was to improve the mobile engineering team's efficiency by monitoring and reducing build time, lowering CI downtime, better code/PR management, etc.
• Leading the iOS DevX team; most of my early efforts here went into refactoring build scripts, improving build time and later application launch time, and evangelizing the internal iOS community for better cross-team collaboration.
• We are still pursuing efforts to reduce ios build time, monitoring crucial metrics, improving how we handle source control and PR reviews.

Oct 2018 – Feb 2019 · 4 mos

• Joined the iOS Platform Engineering team at Gojek dealing with mobile engineering infrastructure required by various products, e.g: Chat, Experimentation, the Springboard (Launchpad). Participated in designing the in-house experimentation system and built the iOS SDK.

• Outlook for iOS is one of the best email clients available today, and I learned a lot during the journey! Spent my early days building a test system to evaluate the round trip (send and receive) performance of various emails.
• Later, moved to improve the Files Tab and supporting accessibility. I took initial efforts in supporting iOS9 Search, External Keyboard, and 3D touch support for the app.
• In last year, I was a core member of a cross-team effort to set up App Analytics and A/B testing. This effort helped the team improve on fault-finding, customer support, and feature validation.
• It is now easier for Leadership Team to get the numbers they want and Product Managers can plan (features) based on data/numbers than gut feeling.

• As a mobile practice lead at Synerzip, I decided to take the role of in-house Developer Evangelist! I did manage the mobile projects and collaboration with the sales/marketing team, but taking up this new role helped me be a more focused tech leader.
• My key responsibilities are now, to motivate developers to adapt to fast-paced mobile technologies and build better apps. Build and nurture a closely-knit community of iOS/Android developers who will experiment and share knowledge, hang out together while exploring new ideas.
• In Synerzip, we are already seeing the benefits of engineers acting as a community where an evangelist leads the path than a 'Manager'. The evangelist throws himself to promote the community in and outside the organization; promoting talent with clients as well as external meetups.
• The experience of running PuneCocoa (iOS Meetup) was immensely helpful here to act as a leader who can walk the talk as an evangelist.

• Make sure the mobile projects are on track, by seeking continuous feedback from clients as well as the team (retros) as well as setting correct expectations. I work closely with the sales team for new prospect discussions, building proof of concepts, etc. I encourage experimentation with newer architectures/technologies for the existing app with continuous refactoring, when we identify some significant benefits of it.

• As a Senior Engineer (iOS) for Quickoffice I l am leading an effort to migrate existing portfolio of apps to a cross-platform SaaS model (gamification of existing one-time payment offering).
• Earlier involved in:
• maintaining and developing new features for QuickOffice for iPad.
• research/POC for new Apple/Cocoa technologies.
• training of new joiners (who are new to iOS/Cocoa) we hired senior C++ engineers and I trained them for Objective-C/Cocoa

• Started my journey as an Associate Consultant at Capgemini in the Custom Software Development group, I started with a C, Unix project working with MacDonalds and Microsoft using SFU (Services for Unix). After a year, I moved to the HP Vision project for their Manufacturing Diagnostic Tooling. Here I got to explore C++, Windows (WMI, Hardware Drivers) build a tool very similar to PC-Doc, and deploy it to the Singapore factory.
• As a Senior Consultant later I worked on iPhone/iPad apps (Mobile Solution Labs): I was not only building the mobile apps but also involved in defining the Mobile App Strategy for our clients, working closely for UX, Mockups in relevance with Apple HIG.
