• Developed APIs in Golang and ported existing APIs in RoR to Golang, resulting in 50x faster mean execution time, 20x lesser mean memory usage and 30x lesser mean CPU utilisation for a typical API.
• Enhanced the Geocoder API leading to 100% better average accuracy compared to the Google Maps API. The work got appreciation from prominent tech leaders and was mentioned in popular tech journals.
• Implemented Uber’s H3 indexing to uniquely identify areas at different levels of hierarchy and configured Elasticsearch clusters with the H3-indexed area data, reducing the query latency by 50% and increasing search accuracy by 75%.
• Increased the success rate of area matches by 80% by implementing a trie-based area parser with the text translated to Devanagari script to introduce fuzziness in area matches.
• Spearheaded the development of a JWT-based authentication-authorization service to authorize and authenticate access to APIs. Completely owned the development and deployment of the service.
• Implemented a log stream using Kafka for asynchronous logging, better metric generation and efficient billing of APIs. Configured managed Kafka clusters to handle the high volume of data and saved $50K in annual expenses for the company.
• Worked closely with the DevOps team for the successful implementation of a CI/CD pipeline and helped in the deployment of the entire API suite and the authentication engine as micro-services on AWS Elastic Bean Stalk. This resulted in complete automation of the development process and ensured 100% uptime of all services.
