• My key role as the Art Director is to coordinate the daily news & feature pages, assign work to the team of designers, keeping consistency in design, our style sheet for the news & feature pages. I develop designs and layout ideas for our other products like business magazine and supplements. This involves bouncing ideas with the editorial, helping the sales team, develop ads and campaigns for the promotions. I try to motivate the team to improve and to provide a clear vision, for the brand.

• I had the great opportunity to work under my senior from NID, Mrs.Jyoti Thapa, as my Art Director. At BS, my responsibilities ranged from helping the AD with the cover story layouts, developing info-graphics, Covers options, illustrations and designing the layout for special stories in the magazine. I had to supervise the production of the magazine till it went for printing. At ABP, I had the rare opportunity to work with Mr.A.Sarkar, who is the owner of the company and to develop a medium for the ABP brand. Later the brief was changed to an iPhone application, where the users could choose to read all the ABP products on the same platform. It was a new platform at that time and creating the application, developing user interface, understanding the user experiences and researching for new and better ways of interaction within the digital and human interface was my responsibility, so that I could further brief the developers and engineers working on the same.

• I started my career with ET. Here my role was to initiate the newspaper design, page layout, pre-production and develop graphics for the daily edition. Design info-graphics and advance stories from the start to the finish; work with the editorial department and establish creative design directions for the branding and the marketing team. I also helped them create campaigns for marketing and branding like -‘The Lead India’ for TOI.
