  • Project 1: Pre Computing Inquiry Data
  • As part of my work on the CXQO Inquiry Debugging page, I addressed the issue of a 35-second load time caused by on-demand API calls, which increased the EPI by 77%. I implemented a solution that pre-computes and stores debugging data in S3, reducing load times by 92%. Using AWS CDK, I created SQS, DLQ, S3, and Lambda function, optimizing the process with Multithreaded async calls that cut computation time by 43%, from 30 seconds to 17 seconds. I then developed and integrated a new API endpoint with the UI to retrieve this pre-computed data. The system now defaults to pre-computed data, and gracefully falls back to the original method when necessary. This optimization reduced the load time by 92%, bringing it down to just 2-3 seconds and potentially reducing API calls by 100% for image retrievals, improving overall performance.
  • Project 2: Migrating Services to JDK 17
  • a) During my internship at Amazon, I successfully migrated key services to JDK 17, enhancing compatibility, security, and performance. I managed the migration of services covering 24 packages across 4 pipelines.
  • b) Conducted a thorough review of the codebase, resolved JDK version mismatches, and addressed compatibility issues by upgrading dependencies like Kotlin and removing deprecated ones.
  • c) Upgraded major libraries (e.g., Guice, Dagger, Kotlin) and utilized Internal tools to efficiently resolve version conflicts.
  • d) Performed extensive integration tests, including adding new tests and deployed services to beta environments to validate functionality before production rollout.
  • e) Documented the entire process, shared challenges and solutions with the team, and conducted discussions to ensure alignment.
  • This migration ensured our services are future-proof, improving performance and security, while also introducing major version upgrades to 2.0 for all service packages.
  • Apart from these projects, completed all the adhoc/minor tasks during the internship period
