• The agriculture sector, despite being the largest employer in India, contributes just 15% to the total GDP. This huge disparity in numbers is due to gross inefficiencies in growing methodology, resulting in below average yields, massive spoilage, lower income for farmers; and price volatility for consumers.
• There is a growing demand for more transparency in agriculture practices used by farmers today. The current number of farmers who can supply such information transparently is small and largely unorganised. Additionally, there is a lot of product adulteration, poor product packaging; and a general lack of accountability.
• Triton Foodworks aims to provide people with a safe, healthy and efficient alternate to traditional methods of agriculture. We plan to achieve this by offering a system of growing food in an ecologically and an economically viable manner, using a combination of hands-on experience and technology in a data driven environment.
• We want to address the problem of a constant supply of fresh, residue-free, locally grown fruits and vegetables by employing Hydroponics and Aeroponics techniques of production.
• Growing food in a greenhouse, under a constant check based on data collected by sensors is called Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA); and when combined with the Hydroponics and Aeroponics techniques our team has mastered, we can ensure a predictable and reliable supply of high quality yields at a constant price-point, which are upto 8 times higher than conventional farming; have a longer shelf life; a greater nutritional value; are pesticide and herbicide free; and use almost 90% less water than conventional farming methods.
