• I began my career at Ranjini Textiles as a textile designer, where I gained a strong foundation in both creative and technical aspects of textile manufacturing. Working closely with experienced designers, production masters, weaving masters, and dyeing masters, etc. I developed in-depth expertise across fabric development, product design, and quality standards.
• Key focus areas:
• Fabric construction, yarn calculation, reed & pick planning, and understanding yarn counts and qualities.
• Weaving techniques: plain, twill, satin, dobby, jacquard, basket, herringbone, and more, with a strong focus on dobby upholstery fabrics.
• Dyeing & printing: vat, procion, and reactive dyeing, screen printing, ikat, and digital printing.
• Weaving processes: hands-on involvement from warping to weaving across handlooms, powerlooms, and auto jet looms.
• Sewing pattern development and prototyping for home textiles, apparel, and garments.
• Product development: finished home textiles (upholstery, furnishings, decor) and apparel.
• Seasonal fabric and product collection development aligned with market trends.
• Sustainable fibres: cotton, linen, hemp, jute, viscose, bamboo, and their blends.
• Quality control: trained in inspection methods, defect identification, fabric mending, and testing for consistency, durability, and finish.
