• I worked on the BharatPe soundbox - a payment notification device used by over 1.5 million merchants. My focus was on making it more reliable and reducing the number of queries merchants raised about it (specifically customer experience part of the product).
• To understand the problems better, I went on the streets, spoke with merchants, and asked simple questions - was the sound clear, did the notification arrive on time, what happened when multiple transactions came in at once. I even kept a soundbox at home to use the “dogfooding” technique, so I could feel the issues firsthand before working on fixes.
• One of my main projects was building a new monthly rentals and cashback section. We sent deep‑link notifications that took users straight to it, which helped reduce soundbox‑related queries by 24% in three months.
• I also designed two Mixpanel funnels for POS machines and soundbox products. This showed exactly where users dropped off and helped improve conversion from machine selection to plan selection by 8%.
• To track replacements , deliveries and returns better I built three detailed Metabase dashboards. These made it easy for the team to see how each step was performing and improve the process month‑on‑month.
• In my last month of my internship, I worked with Akshat Gera, Director PM, and learned how to define a problem clearly, break it down with the MECE framework, link it to the right metrics, and only then move to solutions.
