Dan Parham — CEO
I’m a government technology leader who specializes in strategy, innovation, and partnerships. I’m currently leading State and Local Government at OpenAI. As a former CEO, CPO, and founder, I’m an expert in building and leading cross-functional teams through the product development and go-to-market process. I enjoy working on complex systems at scale that impact society in a positive way. I co-founded and was CEO of Neighborland, a communications platform that helped government agencies, real estate developers, and civic organizations collaborate with the public in an accessible, participatory, and equitable way. As a social enterprise, Neighborland worked with over 200 government agencies, universities, foundations, and nonprofits across the U.S. and Canada. Over 3 million residents participated on Neighborland, and these projects yielded over $750 billion in social and economic impact to date. Neighborland was acquired by Nextdoor in September of 2019, and I led the Public Agency (Government) team as a GM and Head of Product. I built and led a cross-functional team of 20 to support over 4,000 public agencies. During the COVID-19 crisis, our team rapidly onboarded thousands of vital public health and emergency management organizations globally, including the US Department of Health and Human Services (CDC and NIH), numerous U.S. governors, and international governments. Through these partnerships, we delivered billions of views (+250% YoY) of trusted information to over 50 million people worldwide. Additionally, we devised a solution for utilities, transportation agencies, and special districts ($0-5M ARR in 12 months, 125% renewal rate), which was the fastest growing business unit at the company at that time. I have served as an advisor on civic engagement technology for the Obama Foundation and Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities. I have also mentored government technology startups at Matter, Hangar, and Code for America. From 2006-9, I was a Director of User Experience at Yahoo, working for the Marketplaces and Advertising Platform teams. From 2003-6, I was a Creative Director at Time Warner, leading product and design for the platform.
