Laura is a senior Cloud architect for Financial Services at Google Cloud. With over 10 years of technical experience, Laura's specialism is in resilience and disaster recovery. As well as working with financial customers on their Cloud architecture, she also leads the resilience pillar of the Google Cloud Well Architected Framework, and recently wrote the official documentation. She also holds the role of EMEA Tech Lead for Google Women Techmakers, where she leads the technical direction for EMEA and also runs a 6 week technical public speaking training course for women. Before Google, she joined from AWS, and so understands the multi-cloud landscape. Outside of the technical day to day, she has extensive experience with public speaking, creating events and advocacy. Having given technical talks all over the world including 3 talks at AWS Re:invent and several at the AWS Summits across EMEA. She also became one of the first Speaker Bar Raisers, which was a program of chosen individuals to teach, and review speaker engagements across the company to make sure the bar was kept high.
