My work is related to sectors like Renewable Energy, Waste Management, Plastic Pollution, Water Conservation, WASH, Livelihood Development, SDGs and allied fields. I researched the existing PES programs in both the developing and developed world, which were searched based on an exhaustive list of keywords prepared by me. We defined a list of "factors" which can impact the outcome of a PES program, and then extracted data for these from 37 case studies such as GTGP China, PSA Costa Rica, Vittel France, etc. We also made a success calculation mechanism, through which we could declare a PES program as successful or not. After that, we use Chi-square test to find degree of association between the success score and the factors. In the end, our research was able to conclude that there are 3 key factors affecting outcome of a PES: Opportunity Cost Coverage, Monitoring, and Additional Impacts Created.
I was assisted by my Reporting Officer Dr. Roshni Arora, and also by other members of the Working Group formed under TNC's ICASS initiative.

Delegate - Young India Challenge

I participated in the "Young India Challenge 2019". I was a part of the 400 people shortlisted for the event out of 1000s of applicants from not just India but also a few other nations. The theme for Young India Challenge 2019 was "SDG 12 and SDG 13".
Our team, named "Heralds of Utopia", developed a sustainable solution to collect different types of plastic from people locally, including HDPE, LDPE, etc. and then pass it on to recyclers. The recycled plastic would be used by companies like ADIDAS which use it to make some of their popular products.
The carbon footprint for the event was compensated by donating to the Isha Foundation, which is planting trees in South India under the guidance of Sadhguru.
