About

Did you know 61% of people would literally rather open their mouths and have a stranger poke their gums with sharp instruments until they bleed…than press “join meeting” on Zoom, Google Meet or Teams? Meetings suck. Someone is in a bad mood, someone’s laptop isn’t working, someone is hungry, someone comes 27 minutes late, someone leaves 11 minutes in, someone brings up what Sally said during all-hands, most people are not listening and replying to Slack messages, and suddenly we have 5 more minutes to come to a decision that we don’t have time to make and so, guess what, we schedule another meeting. And on it goes. The endless repeat of meeting tax—the thing you have to do to eventually get to doing what you actually need to do, which is your work. Are we doomed forever? No, because you can hire a facilitator (that's me!). I come to your organization to take the burden off you and your team so that you can focus on your work and make more efficient and effective decisions (or actually enjoy training!). You no longer have to deal with endless loops of meetings that come to no decision, lack of progress on projects that your boss keeps asking you about, that worn down feeling of joining a minute past the start time because you just can’t anymore, or making risky decisions because no one can align on because there’s no other choice. Instead, you can be the hero. Be the hero and book a call: https://calendly.com/nikkianderson

Graduate Research Assistant

  • I have been able to experience, firsthand, what working on an inpatient unit is like. I work on a study that investigates the correlations between boredom proneness, symptom severity, and hallucination proneness at Pilgrim Hospital in Long Island, NY. My opportunities include:
  • Interviewing & administering psychometric measures to an inpatient population
  • Working closely with patients suffering from mental illness, such as schizophrenia
  • Understanding & unraveling complexities of delusions and hallucinations through qualitative & quantitative data

Graduate Student Researcher

Sep 2013May 2015 · 1 yr 8 mos

  • I decided to take a chance by conducting my own research. I have a long-standing interest in health and obesity, and was also reading a lot about the concepts of mortality salience, which is the unconscious awareness of one's impending death. The culmination of these two passions was where I got my first unique research design looking into obesity PSAs and how they affect one’s mortality salience. This project gave me the chance to:
  • Critique previous experiments through literature reviews
  • Learn how to collect my own data through an online system, MechanicalTurk
  • Run my own statistical analysis
  • Find significance and prepare for future projects!
