Marie Christine Padberg — Co-Founder
Helping people is my passion and motivation. When I joined McKinsey, a global management consulting Firm, in 2003, I had the chance to work with a wide variety of clients to help them overcome challenges they faced. These first years at McKinsey working side by side with the people at our clients as well as some thought provoking classes during my MBA at INSEAD, led me to switch course at McKinsey and dedicate my career to people topics. As the global co-leader for McKinsey’s Talent Attraction function, I am fortunate to live my passion every day, by creating opportunities for people globally, both internally and externally, and helping them fulfill their potential to be at their best. Having a key role in hiring the next generation of McKinsey’s leaders and making sure that generation is diverse and reflective of the societies we live in, allows me to not only shape the future of the firm, but also the business world of tomorrow. One of the highlights of my professional career has been the founding of McKinsey’s Next Generation Women Leaders program in 2012. Next Generation Women Leaders is McKinsey’s initiative to build a platform for talented women and to bring them together in inspirational workshops, discussions, and networking. The program is designed for women as they are shaping their individual leadership styles. I love seeing how the event is still going strong and is inspiring and empowering hundreds of women every year. (https://www.mckinsey.com/next-generation-women-leaders/overview) Besides work, I am a German living in Amsterdam with my Dutch husband and we are parents of twin girls and a boy. I try to live a healthy balance between time I spend at work, with my family and time for myself. *** I wish I could connect back with everybody who contacts me individually, but given the volume of outreach I am receiving that is not feasible. My suggestion for you is to go to our career site – mckinsey.com/careers. There you will find the width of roles and opportunities we have to offer, from client facing to internal ones. You will also find a dedicated page explaining our interview process which I know many are eager to know more about. On our career blog, you can also get to know colleagues who are sharing their experiences of what it is like to work at McKinsey.***
