At 18, I applied to be part of my college band. I gave my audition did waited for a day, then two & then a week, only to never get a callback. The funny thing was - I threw a small party for all my friends on the day I gave my audition (LOL). That is how confident I knew that I'd get it. But sadly I never got the part. While most people would have given up, my 18-year-old version didn’t. I went to singing competitions across other universities and participated in several open mics across the city. I wasn't going to take 'NO' for an answer. Surprisingly - this persistence led me to find one of my best friends and the co-founder of my band. We started a band, recruited some of the best talent (drummer, keyboardist, guitarist) for our band and played across my city - Chennai. We weren't spectacular, but we had energy, we had jazz, and most importantly - WE HAD FUN. Sometimes it was hard - had no money to rent out a jam room for practice or to even rent a transport to carry all our instruments. But we made it all work - Just through sheer will & persistence. I now put that mindset into solving growth & marketing problems for busy tech founders & the bold venture capitalists backing them. I do this through three levers 1. Acquisition: Founder/Executive led LinkedIn strategy to acquire customers. 2. Retention: Weekly newsletter to drive customer retention, build TOMA (Top-of-mind-awareness) & position your product/brand as the best option when it is time to buy. 3. Conversion: Educational Email Courses to convert a website/profile visitor/newsletter reader to a customer who will take out their wallet and pay top $$$ to your brand.
