LV Nilesh — CEO
Why did you quit the IAS? That's the first thing people ask me. I got transferred 13 times in a decade, as I won’t budge to pressure & even stomp on the feet of corrupt politicians. Frequent transfers didn't bother me, but the political corruption did, so I burnt that IAS bridge as I advance into new territory. The only value an IAS officer offers is nuisance value. At least, that is the perception. Rebranding was necessary. I borrowed $200K loan and got my Michigan MBA in 2001. Dot com crashed. I struggled. $200K debt, without phone, computer, car… looking for an internship. Finally, found internships with Ariba, Sun, & Siebel. Slept several nights in the garage of a very gracious office assistant for the VP at Sun. Based on my work, I landed an offer at EMC that I couldn't resist, as it helped cut my debt. But then came EMC layoffs…while I am on a non-immigrant visa. YIKES. With my eyes set on Microsoft, I landed a role with visa sponsorship for people with exceptional abilities. Even while working at the evil empire, I didn't stop tinkering with open source and Linux, my first love. At home, I had built a prototype implementation of an idea that I had for managing user presence information. Upon successful demonstration of my prototype at Bill Gates' demo-days back in 2007, I wrote and assigned to Microsoft, a patent, in which I defined a technique now used in many products to manage user presence. Bill liked it & asked to build a product. The rest is history. Microsoft Teams is the product. Later, I left corporate to pursue freedom with a clear goal—To help people transform their careers in cloud and AI. At the US military base, JBLM, I discovered they were looking for bids on a project to train laid off soldiers on cloud computing. Many, including Microsoft & Amazon, were bidding. Guess what? I landed that contract. With me as the only employee in my newly formed business. Soldiers worked diligently and succeeded. This gave me pride, satisfaction, accolades, and several offers of partnerships. A group from Boeing showed up in my cohort. Later, I found out that one of the participants was their Chief Cloud Architect. Soon, I heard he ordered everyone at Boeing to benefit from Cloud Genius. OMG. Over the next numerous years, several employers started sponsoring and funding their employees for our programs to help them transform their careers. I have now opened my programs for everyone to benefit, even if you do not have a corporate sponsorship. The Cloud Seminar, powered by Cloud Genius https://thecloudseminar.com
