About

Founder @ Sollo - A lead generation CRM that helps entrepreneurs turn strangers into paying customers. Built on the knowledge I've accumulated by building AI sales systems that have produced over $30m in revenue for clients. See more about it here: www.gosollo.com Here's a bit about me: At 23 I opted out of the corporate world and threw myself into the world of venture backed startups. I haven't looked back since! And a quick summary: At 23: Promoted to Head of Product at a startup. It went under. Learnt what NOT to do. At 24: Started my own startup - Bot the Builder. Raised first capital round. At 25: Rebranded to JRNY. Found a boring vertical to focus on - insurance. At 26: Built out JRNY to team of 10. At 27: Raised seed round. Entered two new markets. Grew team to 15. Then. COVID. So: At 28: Sold JRNY. At 28.1: Started as a VP of Sales at a series A company. Grew revenue from $1m to $4m in 15 months. At 30: Moved to London. Joined a series C company as GM of EMEA. Led a team of 55 people across the region. Grew revenue from $12m to over $19m ARR in 10 months. Achieved regional profitability. At 31: Went out on my own again. And here we are! Now, I run Snowballn' where I have worked with over 300 B2B Sales leaders, founders and business owners to create AI powered sales motions that scale their companies internationally. You can join them by signing up for Snowballn': www.snowballn.com Which led me to build my new venture: Sollo! 👉 www.gosollo.com Some of my career highlights include: ➡️ Starting, scaling and selling my own startup, JRNY ➡️ JRNY being recognised as a top 2 Fintech in Asia Pacific by Money20/20 ➡️ Exceeding revenue targets/quota while operating as the General Manager - EMEA at Fresha ➡️ Achieving profitability while operating as the General Manager - EMEA at Fresha ➡️ Planning and executing geographical expansion plans at Groov and JRNY (entering Australia, Singapore and the US) ➡️ Growing subscription revenue by over 330% while operating as the VP of Sales at Groov ➡️ Being recognised as a finalist for the NZ high tech Young Achiever award READY TO GROW? Jrny | ai

Founder & CEO (acquired)

Jun 2016Aug 2021 · 5 yrs 2 mos · Wellington

  • JRNY was a Fintech and Insurtech AI platform that helped insurance providers simplify the insurance customer journey with its Customer Journey/distribution Platform.
  • JRNY's AI engine was used to improve conversion rates and sales efficiency, and radically increase insurers understanding into customer behaviour.
  • In August 2021, JRNY was acquired by JAVLN 🚀
  • As most start up CEO's I was involved right across the business. In the early days of the company I was involved in everything from product management, design to sales and the company financials. As we grew my role became more focused to include the following:
  • Grow predictable and sustainable revenue (via B2B SaaS sales methodologies, mainly focusing on enterprise sales)
  • Grow a world class team across the business
  • Grow the companies brand on an international scale
  • Skills that I learned, developed and then excelled in:
  • B2B SaaS sales (both small and medium enterprises and large enterprises)
  • Leading a cross functional team of people
  • Reporting to a professional board of directors
  • Representing the company as a director
  • Communicating with shareholders and other stakeholders
  • Developing a widely respected and well known brand
  • We went through multiple pivots while running this business - what started as an AI chatbot turned into a insurance distribution platform. The massive learning here was the need to pick a vertical and go all in. Growth happens when you have one core buyer :)
