About

I specialize in using technology, particularly in infrastructure (network, security, cloud), to address business challenges. My primary role is to align problems with technological solutions and ensure successful business adoption. Over the past four years, I’ve been building world-class teams to achieve this. With over 25 years in the technology industry, I am a seasoned leader, technologist, and problem-solver. My core competencies include: Servant leadership Solutions architecture Business operations Network engineering and architecture Security engineering and architecture Network management and visibility Distributed systems Python Cloud computing AI/ML I've been computing in some form or fashion since age 9. I started my career as a volunteer technical support person in the dial-up ISP space. Ever had to walk a 74-year-old through configuring and troubleshooting Windows connectivity to the Internet using Netscape Navigator and Winsock over the phone? I have. I've designed, developed, architected, implemented, and operated critical infrastructure data centers, IPTV and broadcast networks, municipal broadband networks, HIPAA-compliant data centers, network access control systems, custom microsegmentation solutions, and some of the first CDNs. I’ve consulted for eight of the top ten global telecommunications providers, taught and mentored Cisco sales engineers through Cisco's SEVT programs, and influenced networking product directions with OEM product management and technical marketing teams. I’ve also structured, developed, and delivered content for Cisco Live. My mission is to help organizations achieve their goals by leveraging the best technologies and practices across all technology domains. My proudest achievement has been building effective technology teams in the infrastructure space and mentoring generations of engineers.
