• This position included building of an innovation eco-system in Ahmedabad by supporting design led businesses. In particular, was involved in education with the faculty of Industrial Design and offered courses on Design & Innovation at IIT Gandhinagar. Held administrative responsibilities of revamping Intellectual Property Right cell. In my tenure as a head of IPR, the number of design registration increased exponentially. As a head of Railway Design Center, our team closely worked with the RDSO Lucknow for developing new innovative design concepts and research directions for the Indian Railways. Time in NID was great and offered a good mix of academic and administrative experience.

• I am one of the founding directors of VentureStudio. My involvement included setting up physical infrastructure, designing curriculum for entrepreneurs (also called design fellows) and building network with relevant institutional and industrial stakeholders. VentureStudio gave me an opportunity to understand how design-centeric institutions are built and potential impact it may have at a national level. VentureStudio is one of the initial experiments in India that advocates design thinking based curriculum for start-ups to develop innovative and scalable ventures. This initiative offered an opportunity to closely work with the Center for Design Research, Stanford University for five years.

• In Delft, my research focus was in the domain of (a) integrated new product and service development such as diagnostic care, preventative information system, pre-referral services and digital health identity, (b) behavior change and communication in healthcare, (c) human Computer Interaction design (HCI)- specific areas such as tangible user interface, persuasive computing. I continue of work in these domain, however, my main focus has shifted to research on issues related to design driven entrepreneurship and creating innovation eco-system in emerging markets.
