You're already winning. You've built something. You've moved the needle. And you're wondering: How do I go further without burning out in the process? I know what that costs, because I lived it. Here's my story. The unedited one. The human one. At 14: Varsity cross country. Childhood dream: neurosurgeon. At 18: High school valedictorian, 4.3 GPA. Started studying neuroscience in college. At 18: Traumatic brain injury. Told I might never walk or talk normally again. Forced to drop out of college. Dreams crushes. Identity shattered. At 19: Decided to rebuild. I was running. Back in college. Discovered concentration issues. 2.6 GPA. Identity shattered, gave up childhood dream. At 22: Graduated BS Neuroscience from Emory 4.0 semester GPA. But no job. Age 23: Moved to SF alone. Started at Dropbox. Age 27: Head of Design Operations (160 org, $40M). Age 30: Duke MBA. Founded a company. Burned out. Age 31: Building in public. Those 13 years of fighting taught me something crucial: The Human Edge isn't about working harder. It's about thinking differently. Here's what I do: I work with founders, CEOs, and operators who are already high-performing and ready to go further— without sacrificing themselves in the process. We don't start from what's broken. We start from what's possible. We rebuild your operating system from identity, not playbooks. From how you actually think, decide, and show up. Three ways to work together: 1. The Human Edge Sprint (6 weeks): Map your cognitive patterns, clarify your decisions-making framework, rebuild your operating system from identity— not playbooks. 2. Advisory & Consulting (1:1): Ongoing partnership around organizational design, leadership systems, and scaling without sacrificing culture. 3. Speaking & Brand Partnerships. I speak on redesigning organizational systems, building resilience, and preserving what makes us human. The honest part: I know how quickly life changes, for better and or worse. I know the power of belief— both limiting and unlocking. I know what it costs to build, and I know what's possible when you protect your cognitive capacity while building others up. That's not theory for me, It's lived. Not sure where to start? Have a different idea? I'm one DM away. Let's talk: joyce@joyceshin.org
