DS is a multifaceted role in Gojek. It starts by connecting with the business teams to understand the problem. After this, we do a lot of analysis to understand the problem from a DS perspective and conceptualizing a plausible solution. We then build an ML model as a prototype which moves to production after successful reviews from various stakeholders. For productionization, we build ETL and model training pipelines and the final output is presented as an API to users. Finally, we create dashboards and alerts to monitor the health of various aspects of the ML product like latency, throughout, input feature distribution, success metrics, guardrail metrics, etc. This doesn't stop here as we continuously look for ways to improve the performance and solidify the structure.
