Aardra Jayan — Business Development Executive
Swapping test tubes for content calendars opened a door I didn’t know I was ready to walk through. And somehow that one decision made everything click. Hi, I'm Aardra, a marketing graduate from the University of Nottingham with an unusual starting point: a degree in biotechnology. I started in Biotechnology, spending hours analyzing data, spotting patterns, and designing experiments to test ideas. That experience taught me how to think critically, approach problems methodically, and make decisions based on evidence, skills that turned out to be surprisingly relevant outside the lab. Along the way, I realized I was just as curious about people as I was about experiments: what drives their choices, how they respond to messages, and why some ideas stick while others fade. That same curiosity found a new home in marketing, where insights meet imagination to reach people in ways that matter. My transition from science to marketing began with content writing. What started as a hobby turned into internships and eventually full-time roles in social media and content marketing. Over time, I found the same satisfaction in marketing analytics as I once did in lab results: spotting patterns, testing hypotheses, and improving outcomes based on evidence. I have led and supported multi-channel campaigns, designing visuals in Canva, writing customer-focused copy, and even creating in-app notifications through Firebase to boost engagement. I also worked on audience and competitor research using Google Analytics and social insights to shape our content strategy. I managed LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook campaigns via Meta Business Suite, developed B2B content, and collaborated with sales and product design teams to align product messaging with marketing objectives. It was here I learned how strategic communication can directly influence business growth and customer trust. I’m skilled in Canva, Meta Business Suite, Firebase, SEMrush, and Google Analytics, and I enjoy using both creative and analytical tools to deliver meaningful results. My biotech background has made me naturally detail-oriented, curious, and data-driven, traits that now shape the way I plan, test, and measure marketing ideas. I’m excited to continue developing in marketing, contributing ideas that matter, and helping brands communicate with clarity and heart. If this resonates, I'd love to connect and explore how we might collaborate or share insights. I’m happy to provide my CV for a closer look at my background and work. E: aardraj.work@gmail.com
